As a member of the competence team at the university of Aachen, LOBS.LED CCC is responsible for the issue „Energy - efficient building with LED Lighting“. With more than 15 years of experience in the LED Technology and successful execution of numerous projects the company guarantees a trustful cooperation including identification of needs, choice of quality LED products and involvement of suitable needed experts.

Customer specific lighting concepts are developed by LOBS.LED CCC interacting with architects, constructional engineers, technical building equipment specialists and facility managers. Will there be any conventional lighting products in future?
No, the EU has imposed bans on all traditional lighting products; the global world will follow.


Can you exchange all old luminaires with LED retrofits?
In home segments under certain conditions yes; for industrial use with high wattages certainly no. The needed cooling units would be too heavy for the old E 40 lamp sockets.


In case of exchanging an industrial highbay completely, how can I recognize a quality LED highbay?
For sure not by the look. Ask for single components (chip, driver etc.), lumen / watt results, modularity, independent testing reports etc. Never buy such an electronical product from the internet, but with a reliable partner you trust.


What is the greatest challenge for LED products? How is it solved?
To quickly dissipate the heat that occurs from the back of the LED board. The board is tightly fixed to a cooling unit (mostly aluminium) with a special cooling paste in-between; the higher the wattage, the bigger and heavier the unit.


Can you change the LEDs in case of failure or wish for other light color? If not, do you then have to throw away the whole product?
To avoid an early exit of the product it is prohibited to detach the LED board from the cooling unit for replacement. It would interrupt the effective heat dissipation. Yes, in case of failure or wish of changing the light color, you would have to throw away the whole product.


Why are traditional lighting companies leaving the lighting market?
First of all LED business 99 % differs from traditional lighting business. Second, their “cash cow”, meaning retrofit business is gone because with LED products there is no differentiation between bulb and luminaire any more (see question before).

Profile - Elisabeth Schüßler-Kemper

Mrs. Elisabeth Schüßler-Kemper, herself mother of two grown up kids, was born into a middle class family of entrepreneurs (construction industry) in 1954. After studies in English and related experience abroad at the university of Calgary / Alberta / Canada for one year, studying educational psychology and law she graduated in law (first and second examination). Since 1988 she is working as a lawyer providing focused consultancy services in small and medium sized companies to meet the goal of early involvement of managerial decisions. In 2001 together with 2 partners she founded the company rehlectro GmbH, mother company of LOBS.LED Deutschland GmbH. After 15 years of experience in the development of LED technology and completion of numerous successful projects in 2013 she established the management consultancy called LOBS.LED Climate Change Consultancy (CCC), responsible for its destiny until today.
